“The paintings were done using watercolours inspired by the murals Khadambi painted on the walls of his house. I wanted them to be dainty and dreamlike, and the subject matter revolves around ideas of home and belongingness. There are some objects in the work that reference my favourite elements/stories from 575 like the tapestry, the deer, fretwork and cane furniture.”
