UJAMAA PROJECT

In 2019 we worked with National Trust Site, 575 Wandsworth Road to create the Ujamaa Project; combining arts residencies and commissions, community workshops and events in response to the house of Khadambi Asalache. This page highlights the work of the four commissioned artists, Day Mattar, Kit Rees, Nada Elkalaawy and Naki Narh. Click on their photos to view their work.

We are thankful to our interns Avleen Kaur, Binoli Shah, Zara Ahmed, Esther Lundgren and Toby Harrison for their combined efforts to create and develop this project alongside Michelle Li (intern with 575). Many thanks to Laura Hussey and Lisa Carruthers for providing an opportunity for artists and the public to be inspired by this amazing house.

Watch the documentary below to see a glimpse of the house and find out more about the project itself.
